Hi everyone,
Just a little update with what’s been happening over the past few months. I have been very busy with training doing everything I can to be in the best shape for the huge year ahead.
Since returning from altitude training at Sierra Nevada in October it was straight back into it. And with only five weeks until our national championships we are getting to the pointy end of training and I am looking forward to tapering. It's been a long and tiring past few months and being an Olympic year I only had one day off over Christmas. So no Christmas holidays for me!
I competed at the Victorian State Championships in January just for a bit of racing and a change of scenery just to get away from the AIS and Canberra for a few days. I went there not expecting anything just wanting to try a few new swim suits out. No other competitions in the lead up to nationals in Adelaide in March so just staying in Canberra and training hard.
At this stage it looks like I will be swimming the 100 fly, 100 free and the 200 individual medley at the Olympic Trials. My only goal at the moment is to qualify for the Olympic team. If I do some PBs along the way then that's a bonus.
Exciting times ahead :)
Alicia
