Interesting Facts
- Brian Kirkham clocked his first ever UCI win when he beat Olympian Jared Graves to take out the fourth round of the 2009 Oceania Series. He was also the National Series Champion in 2009 and 2010.
- 2011 was a breakthrough year for Kirkham, taking out a host of national and Oceania medals as well as finishing 5th at the World Championships in Denmark. He ended the year ranked 15th in the world.
- Kirkham had a great lead up to the London Games, winning the Australian BMX Championships in Mt Gambier as well as the Oceania Continental Championships on the Gold Coast. An 11th placing at the World Championships in Birmingham saw Kirkham sit in the top ten of world rankings and secure a berth at his debut Olympics.
