The first six sailors for the 2012 Australian Olympic Team were selected on 10 January in Brisbane. More sailors will added through the year.

Scott Brennan and David Crawshay rowed to gold in the double scull at the 2008 Olympic Games. Brennan and Crawshay had finished first in the quadruple scull B Final at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 and were determined to turn that mediocre performance around.
